On The Scope – A masterclass in practical scanning electron microscopy is a workforce development program aimed at practicing scientists and engineers seeking to increase their skills and knowledge in the area of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Registrants choose between two available tracks - a manager track or a researcher track.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. A minimum of four people are required to operate each two-day workshop with a maximum of twelve. All efforts will be made to accommodate preferences.

2. Cancellations and Refunds: A full refund minus a $75 administrative fee will be made if cancellation is received three weeks prior to the start of the course. No refunds within three weeks of the course start date.

Any in-person components will be delivered using the established educational facilities and equipment at the Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis (CEMAS) at the College of Engineering.

RESEARCHER TRACK -

Component #1 (Course content and lectures will be available April 1, 2025 - May 20, 2025): A series of asynchronous lectures and demonstration sessions delivered 100% online.
Component #2 (in-person April 28-29, 2025 OR May 5-6, 2024): Participants choose one of the two dates listed above to attend.

MANAGER TRACK -

Component #1: (Course content and lectures will be available April 1, 2025 - May 20, 2025): A series of asynchronous lectures and demonstration sessions delivered 100% online.
Component #2: (4-hour workshop to be scheduled after registration) Participants schedule a 4-hour workshop with CEMAS staff for hands-on microscope session to image their own samples that can be done in-person or online.
