Data Mining (Autumn 2024 - 2nd Term)

Data Mining is one of five non-credit courses in the Certification in Practice of Data Analytics (CPDA) program and is the second course in the sequence. This course can be taken individually or as one of four courses required to receive the CPDA certificate of completion. The course is delivered in 100% distance learning format and includes instructional material equivalent to a one-semester credit hour class.

  • Pre-Requisites: Students must have an understanding of Python before taking this course. If you don't have experience with Python, it's required that students complete this free training before starting the Machine Learning class: https://www.kaggle.com/learn/python
    If you are pursuing the CPDA Certification students must complete Introductory Statistics for Data Analytics before taking this course.
  • Course Duration and Completion: Each course offering in this program operates with a specific start date and end date. Students must complete each course during the specific time frame. Access to the online course and materials is removed when the course ends. To successfully pass. the course, you must have an 80% or better on all assignments, quizzes, and projects.
  • Cancellation and Refund: If you cancel your registration no later than 3 weeks prior to your scheduled course, you will receive a full refund minus a $75 administrative fee. No refunds for cancellations made within 3 weeks of the scheduled start date.
